Default Can an '07 Burb haul 1150 lbs. in the back?

My wife teaches art and needs me to pick up 23 boxes of clay for her on Monday. Each box weighs 50 lbs for a total of 1150 lbs. Would it be wise to haul that in the rear cargo area of my Suburban? I have a utility trailer, but it's a PIA to use and it's buried in my garage right now. Just wondering if any of you guys out there have experience hauling such heavy loads inside your Burbs/Yukon XLs? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Should be fine. Your back, however, is another story.

Payload rating for a half ton Burb is ~1500 lbs. Regardless of the suspension type.

Check in your drivers door jamb - there is an orange and red payload sticker specific to your vehicle.

ETA: This is what it looks like:

Also, one must consider the weight of Passengers and Fuel, which reduce the available capacity.

Fuel is already taken into consideration when they weigh the truck as it comes off the line. So the available payload quoted on the sticker is able to be used completely.

I was also assuming the OP weighs less than 350 lbs.

I was more concerned with the rear axle if all that weight was going in the rear cargo area but that checks out fine too. Your steering might feel a little lighter though.

A marginal assumption for some of us

Not that I would advise over loading the vehicle, but also take into account just how far you will be carrying that load... plus you can spread it out by placing some boxes in the front floor, rear floor and probably get away with a box in each passenger seat...

Thanks everyone for all the great advice. I think hauling this will be fine as long as it's distributed evenly.
