Can I reroute my radiator hose?
I have a 350 and due to chevy's poor design. The coolant hose rests right on top of the alternator. The alternator's teeth rips right through the coolant hose when i step on the brake too hard. Which makes the hose bend down and hit the alternator. I just replaced the hose this morning cause it ripped last night and squirted coolant all over the engine bay. Then it did it again this afternoon. I don't want to buy a metal one cause i know it will make sparks and possibly great a engine fire. What can i do to stop the hose from touching the alternator?
you sure you dont have another problem like the something moving during a hard stop or acceleration causing the radiator hose to relocate into the alternator fan ??? motor mount, radiator support, cracked frame... or as simple as a body/core support mount ??? but yes you can re-route it if you can find a hose that will work
