I have a 2000 suburban 1500 and my rear diff is binding up, it has disk brakes and I believe 10 bolt diff. It's OEM. My friend said it may be possible to use the ring and pinion from the previous generation with drum brakes as long as the gear ratio is the same as well as the axle. Is this true? If so what do I need to look for to match these up?
