Cat Pee In My New Tahoe

Cat Pee In My New Tahoe
So as I was unloading my Tahoe after a trip to the store a neighbor came over to chat and while we were chatting it up my 22 pound black tom cat jumped into the back while the lift gate was open. I closed the lift gate and trapped the cat in my Tahoe for 10 hours (luckily in low to average temp at night). He took a dump in the car as well as pissed all over the carpet. I figure that the pee soaked through the carpet, through the insulation, down into the floor plate, hence I am edging towards replacing entirely.
1. Take to a detail shop?
2. Any cleaner that I should use?
3. Have the carpet replaced?

Welcome to Chevy and sorry about the smell! As a veterinarian of 30 years I will tell you cat urine is one of the harder things to get out. I would recommend a detail shop or maybe professional carpet cleaner before trying any DYI things that might do more harm than good. You may end up needing to replace the stuff under the carpet but save the carpet itself with cleaning. Good luck and report back on progress please.
