Check this out

i just traded my 07 LT 5.3 tahoe 4x4 that got average 15.5 mpg

i now have an 07 Z71 5.3 tahoe 4x4 that gets 12.8 average mpg

same mileage on both 55,000

same driver same engine what the heck!

12.8 is exactly what I get in my 2007 Tahoe LS 5.3 4x4

what where the gears in the read end. that can play a big part in what you will see for MPG.

Although counter-intuitive, the 4.10 gears seemed to do better than the 3.73 do.
