Default "Chevys run hot"???

I talked to someone recently that was towing a 32 foot ultra lite (around 6500 max weight) with an older gen Toyota Tundra (so same engine as my 4th gen 4Runner, 4.7L V8). He said that his Chevy was stronger but ran hot on the hills (we live in Utah...high elevation and lots of hills/mountains). His Tundra didn't overheat as much. Do you suppose he was towing with a Tahoe that didn't have the heavy duty tow package? He was already getting close to the max of 7,000 with his Tundra.

We're seriously considering upgrading to a Yukon/Tahoe with the heavy duty tow package and extra cooler (KL5 and GU6). How well would this tow a 4300 max travel trailer (21' total length). Our 2007 Toyota 4Runner tows it ok but we need something that tows as well if not better but with a third row. In the future we may upgrade slightly but no heavier trailer than 6500 lbs. and almost certainly not 32 feet.

Thank you!

Mrs. Cusser has a 2005 Yukon XL Denali 6.0 liter engine, AWD, 206K. She tows a horse trailer and horse up the mountains on Interstate 17 regularly, did this again this morning. Temperature gauge stays middle, does not run hot. And there was a heat warning in Phoenix, 110F today; but was only 95F when she departed Phoenix.

Our 1994 Suburban did not run hot under similar conditions.
