Default Cold air intake question - 96 Tahoe

Currently I just have a drop in K&N filter in my 96 Tahoe. I see on E B A Y that there are the nice K&N cold air set ups that cost like $300 and ones that cost $60. Obviously there is a reason on cost difference but I have a hybrid question about it. Any experts out there think it could be worthwhile to get one of the cheap cold air setups that has the heat shield and swap out the filter with my current K&N on it so its more of a hybrid sep up that saves me a few bucks or it better to go all or none on a K&N set up.
