Default Corner Markers LED

So, I'm addicted to LED now that I have spiffy all black tail lights that match the black truck that light up BRIGHT red...

If I swap out the corner lights (all 4) and the 2 plate ones, is it noticable?

all the lights are the same, I found them from a site I got resistors from and really liked...

194 is the light # i think

has anyone done this?

I'm thinking about front turns LED, but there not exactly cheap... (the huge column ones) do they fit?

and of course they are outta stock

4157 is the turn / park

but 4057 comes up in the seach?

will those work, they aren't a bad price...

has anyone done this swap? I just really like how crisp / clean LED light is.

Crap, to do the turns I'm gonna have to add resistors as well up front, since I did 6 ohm each in the rear to correct that issue...

a 4157 bulb is 5.7 ohms at 12.8v (http://www.the12volt.com/ohm/page2.asp)

So I would need some 6 ohm resistors up from as well...

Default bulbs

this post would lead me to believe 4157 and 4057 bulbs are interchangable... is that accurate?

Yes, they interchange. I still don't have my front parking/turn bulbs or the DRL's changed because it's damned near impossible to get to them without pulling the whole headlight out, and yes, you need to add resistors up front just like the rear turn signals. The part numbers I got from them were:

Front Park/turn signal: 3157_20_A

Rear Brake/turn: 3157_20_R

DRL: 3157_27_MSMT_W

I never tried the big panel bulbs for the 194 marker lights, I used the 194_5_SMT_W_5K for the rear/front markers and license plate. I'm not sure I would bother with them in anything other than the license plate bulbs since the amber/red housings pretty much hide the fact that the bulbs are LED, but maybe the big panel bulbs would look different. The only thing I don't have is the puddle lights (also 194) because I have the "approach lighting" turned off because of the HID conversion which also turns off the puddle lights. Hope that helps.

Default lights

I forgot about the 'puddle' ones... hmmm that could be neat.

Yea, behind the colored plastic the corner ones might not be all that visible anyway...

and thats $20+ i can't spend on gas to fill my other toys...

I like the warmer glow of the old style on the inside lights... but now you have my intrested in the puddle ones lol...

Now I see a 5k and 6k light, what's the difference? I see 4LED and 6LED ones (# of bulbs)

The 5K ones I used are more white than blue, the 6K ones are too "blue" for my taste. The more LED's, the brighter they should be. That 194_5_SMT_W_5K bulb I bought is OK, but probably no brighter than the stock bulbs for the license plate, just "whiter". They looked cool in the puddle lights, but since mine are always off now, a waste.
