Could not believe it
I could not believe it,the service writer and I got into it this morning.I had my 2008 suburban for an oil change and the tech that did the oil change found a bad left front tie rod end.The tech that did the oil change knows me including my mechanic Gerald, fix it with no questions asked. The service writer decides to order a cheap tie rod end without asking me.I looked at him and said I wanted the moog since I am going to keep it.Said cheaper is better which I did not like.My mechanic Gerald looked at him and said to order the Moog and gave him the news later in the afternoon,he was fired.I am glad my mechanic took care of this and knows I don't want cheap parts on my vehicles which can be costly doing it over and over again.
bull****!
If you wanted MOOG you would have to pay for the MOOG. Your car is a 2008? So it is still under warranty right? So the service writer ordered was would be a GM acceptable warranty replacement. MOOG parts arent factory authorized. But you can put whatever you want to if you pay for it. Maybe your problem was you didnt tell the service writer you would pay for the MOOG and not the Goodwrench.

It is not a dealership. It is my mechanic Gerald's own shop.I learned my lesson on cheap parts and knows what happens: Failure.I drive this home to work including work to back home, get my children to point a to point b.I keep my vehicles well maintained and I want it done right the first time.I was talked into the Moog suspension parts years ago,a real lifetime warranty. It has 90,000 miles on it already and is going in for a tune up in a couple weeks using AC Delco spark plugs only.I bought a while back with 75,000 miles on it.A salesman owned it before I bought it.
