Default Cruise Control Sensetivity

Have a 2008 Suburban LTZ. When on cruise and starting up a hill it slows down almost 5 mph before downhifting into 3rd and occasionally it is reacting so slowly it will immediately downdhift all the way into 2nd which really revs the engine. I think if it were more sensitive and would downshift to 3rd quicker it wouldn't need to go to 2nd. Anybody know if the sensitivity on the cruise is adjustable and if so where and how? Thanks
