Default In dash screen help

Hey Guys,

Im new to this forum, and already have a problem that I need help with. I have a 2003 Tahoe with the Bose speaker system. I just intsalled a Pioneer 5700 indash screen. When wiring it up I had to use a chime interface from scosche #dcgm09. Well everything works just fine except I have a whine coming from my front and rear speakers. How would I go about fixing this? If you could help me out with part numbers that would be great too!! Thanks in advance for yalls help!!

There are a couple things that can cause the whine noise, first thing you want to do is to remove the head unit and check the drain wires on the factory stereo wire harness connectors, the drain wires are bare and may have excessive length in some cases that can allow them to contact adjacent terminals on the back side of the connector. This can be corrected by pulling back any unnecessary slack in the drain wires and securing them with electrical tape.

The other thing that you may want to do is install an additional ground wire from the chassis of the head unit to a solid ground source, you may have to test several different grounding locations to find the one that eliminates the noise.
