that's the worst comment ever. Having DRL's is an added safety benefit for all drivers on the road. Your comment is like saying we shouldn't have seatbelts because we shouldn't hit someone else's car

No US state mandates DRLs, but some require drivers to operate vehicles with lights on in bad weather. This is from the http://www.iihs.org/research/qanda/drl.html.
Honestly, I am glad that I have DLRs. I feel that it makes my vehicle more visible to oncoming traffic
