Default Did I wire these tail lights wrong?

On my 94 Suburban

The original lights fit into each socket, so I just had to wire the 2 LED circles on each light. I wired them to have them set on all the time, but they don't blink or get brighter to show brake lights, only the original white light does that. If I wire them into the turn signal/break light they only come on when I break/signal, so I connected them to the wire that gets continuous power.

The only problem with this is white is now my turn signal and brake color, which I believe is against the law correct?
I have the option to get a red bulb to replace my original but I like the white look behind the Red LEDs.

So how do I get my LEDs to work with my turn signal/brake and have them on all the time? Do I connect them into both the turn signal part and the continuous power(Driving lights) one? I just think if I do that they won't flash correct? since it has the continuous power one plugged into it it will just stay on and not flash?
