Default Disable turn signal clicking noise

Does anyone know how to disable/mute the clicking noise that accompanies the turn signal indicator lights?
It seems so loud compared to every other car I have been in.
Thanks!!

Welcome to the forum.

If you have a 2007 or newer, I believe the chime level is adjustable in the DIC.

Hi BenDonnelly, here is the quick reference Sir Shark was referring to;
CHIME VOLUME
This feature allows you to select the volume level
of the chime.
Press the customization button until CHIME
VOLUME appears on the DIC display. Press the
set/reset button once to access the settings for this
feature. Then press the customization button to
scroll through the following settings:
NORMAL (default): The chime volume will be set to a normal level.

LOUD: The chime volume will be set to a loud level.

NO CHANGE: No change will be made to this
feature. The current setting will remain.
Choose one of the available settings and press
the set/reset button while it is displayed on the DIC
to select it.

Note, this may or may not affect the Turn Signals or 4-ways nevertheless,
Good Luck

Default chime

I believe 'chime' is the annoying bing bing bingn noise when you have a door open, don't wear your seatbelt, forget to throw salt over your left shoulder, forget to breath OUT then IN, or are human, or leave your lights on, etc.

Hey, I KNOW, let's use the same chime for everything! that will make our car awesome to the max!

ya I really doubt you can totally turn that sweetness off. I am one of the people that only uses my blinker if someone else is driving close enough to matter if they know what I am doing because the noise annoys me. I don't understand people that sit at a red light with the blinker going and going and going...we all know what you are about to do.
a while ago we had a rental - brand new Crown Vic!
I thought it was funny that if you leave the blinker on for a while another chime comes on to alert you to turn off the blinker

I must admit,i do not miss the clicking noise, but this is my wifes car.I had a new Nav/sat radio/ telephone package installed in the car and she seems to think that during the installation they have mis-wired something to take away the sound.Does anyone know if the sound is active in the LS to begin with?

Welcome to the forum.

First you should get some kind of audible indication of the turn signal. Second, mine isn't as loud as the "warning" chime for seat belts etc. I'll have to look to see if there's any kind of volume control for either of them.

I had the same problem with a loud signal and chime and couldn't take it anymore. There was an aftermarket nav sys in when i got it. I determined the signal and chime sound was coming from under the center console so I removed it and there was a corded speaker under there. I just put some tape over the speaker to muffle the noise to a acceptable volume.

I don't know if the speaker was installed as a part of the aftermarket Pioneer system because I didn't bother to trace it once I found the source of the noise.

Works great now!

Default Indicator noise

I also had a pioneer system installed in my wifes car.She then complained that there was no indicator noise and she wanted one.I told her that it was not there before the stereo install but she swore blind that it was .I spoke to the stereo install company and they told me that it was disconnected when the Chevrolet stock stereo was removed and that if we wanted to get it back i would have to buy and extra module at a cost of about $50 .Not sure if i believe them .
