Default Door mirror cover help

New to the site, and I need help with a solution for my door mirrors. I've got a 2005 Z71 in Silver Birch metallic.

It's been the best vehicle I've owned, but kids and loads are getting bigger and I want to upgrade to a 4WD Suburban. I want to maximize my resale value. The Tahoe is in very good shape and still under extended warranty, save for cosmetic issues on the exterior mirrors and bumpers. The problem with the mirrors is the paint is chipping off for some reason and looks bad. Anybody else have this problem?

My questions are:
1. Can I get the colored mirror covers to match my paint?
2. If so, where?
3. Can I find the specific part number somewhere to do part searches?
4. Is it DIY, or is a tech needed?

I'm trying to do this as inexpensively as possible, and I'm open to suggestions. Thanks.

Any help out there? I know I can always go to the dealership, but I don't see much difference between that and a prostate exam for this type of repair.

you could try a local paint/body shop.. im sure they could paint it the same color or very close. but they will charge probably close to $100 and it will look good (hopfully lol) you could always do it yourself. again go to the local dealer and ask them to get the paint for you..just a few thoughts

Thx, gotstylez. I appreciate it.

I'm hoping for a "plug n play" answer to this problem. Seems to me there has to be a back inventory of these things collecting dust in a warehouse somewhere.

Get some DupliColor and repaint them yourself. It's not that hard.
