Door Speakers (2007 LS) Question
Just purchased some Alpine speakers (6-1/2" 2-Way Coaxial Car Speakers (Pair)
Model: SPR-17C) and I wanted to know how would I go about installing these. I know how to install speakers, but haven't had a chance to mess with the Tahoe too heavy. Do the speaker covers pop right off or do I have to take the door cover all the way off? What would be the best way to install these speakers?Forgive me for my incorrect terms for things. lol

RE: Door Speakers (2007 LS) Question
You have to remove the entire door panel do install the speakers. You will prob need to purchase some speaker spacers to get them to fit properly depending on how big the baskets are. On the tahoes and avalanches i have installed speakers on they have need speaker spacers for the front and rear. There is also a small lip around the speaker grillbehind the door panel that should be remove as well to ensure thedoor panel goes back on fully.

I will soon be doing the same in upgrading the audio sysytem in my 07 Tahoe, and have always found the best DIY instructionsavailable at crutchfield.com, http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...mp;i=700MASTER. Have used these on all of my vehicles in the past and well worth the$4.99, they will send it to you for free if you order something from them too.

RE: Door Speakers (2007 LS) Question
Replacing the factory speakers and addin a 4 channel amp is a pain in the a$$ especially if you want onstar to still work. I did this in my 1st tahoe and have decided it is not worth doing in my 2nd one. The only thing ihave doneinmy 2nd oneis add navigation,a mono ampand and 4 speakers thus using the factory bose amp to power the after-market speakers.
