Default Doors lock by themselves with keys inside

2008 Suburban Z71
If I leave the keys in the suburban not in the ignition, say in the cup holder I walk away and the horn beeps and the doors are loocked with the keys inside with no input from me. I know others have the same issue.
Is this normal operation or is something screwed up? it doesnt always happen.

Thanks

Are you maybe pressing the door lock button when you exit the vehicle?

You may have the Delayed Door Lock feature active. For additional information, please refer to page 3-77 of the owner's manual. For your convenience, a digital copy of the manual is available at: http://www.extendedgmwarranty.com/ow...olet-Tahoe.pdf

this is a normal thing some vehicles have an auto lock feature that activates when no keys are in the ignition doors are closed and no one is detected in the seats (if it has occupant sensors).
