Double DIN radio dimensions

Double DIN radio dimensions
I have an LS model '07... no bose, no nav/dvd. I am planning on getting an aftermarket double DIN indash dvd/cd player. I've narrowed it down to 2 that I really like... Panasonic CQ-VD6503U and JVC KW-AVX706. On Crutchfield.com they say that neither of these units will fit the Tahoe because the Double DIN radio size in GM cars is only 3" and it needs to be 4". When I went out to my Hoe to measure the height, it seems as if the radio opening would be about 4.5" (big enough for install kit + dvd player). Can anyone help clear this up for me... i could've over measured the part of the radio that actually comes out. Does anyone know the actual dimensions of the stock radio? Thanks

Ok... well... maybe noone knows, haha. Has anyone put in a non-factory double DIN screen? And if so, which one was it?

either one of them will fit. all you need is the metra 95-3305 dash kit which is a double din kit for the 07 tahoe. when installing a double radio you will need to cut ou the plastic in the back of the radio and on the sides to fit the metra harness and you will also have to trim some of the metal behind the plastic pieces you remove. and as far as a wire harness you need a metra gmos-lan-01 which is for a non bose system.
