Hi guys. I have a 2005 Burb. The speedo and tach are not working. I plan on removing the cluster and sending it to get repaired. However, this will take 5 business days. We cannot be without a vehicle that long. The repair person said most of his customers do drive the vehicles without the cluster while it is being repaired and use a GPS or phone app for speed and mileage purposes.
A friend who is a Ford mechanic states Fords cannot be drive without the cluster.
My question is, can the Burb be driven without the cluster? I realize the dangers involved. Just wondering if it is physically possible.
Thank you

It is illegal regardless of whether it would work. Some cars will start without them, but most new vehicles will be immobilized without it. I suspect it would not start and there would be multiple faults. Have not attempted..

Worked for me. I only drove it around the way to the auto parts store. I do believe it is illegal in most states to drive with out a speedo though. So becareful.
