2012 Suburban Seat Gear Stripped
I have a 2012 Suburban and the drivers seat up / down quit working for the seat. Front part of seat up / down works, rear part of seat up / down does not. I removed seat and motor and shaft were spinning to gear box. Disasembled gear box and one of the plastic gears is stripped. Anyone know if this is a serviceable item and if so where to get gear and how to install. Gear box comes apart enough just to see gears, not r & r.
Thanks

I was working on my failed seat heating elements (a whole other story) and adjusted the power lumbar and heard it pop. I already had the back of the seat off so I took the cover off the cable adjusting motor. As soon as I took the cover off it was obvious that the PLASTIC gear had shattered.
I called my local parts guy, Whom I have gotten to know very well because of the heated seat issue, and he said I would have to replace the whole frame for about $450....For a plastic gear?
I am hoping you can suggest another less expensive option.I have purchased a Chevy every 3 years for the last 30 years.
Thank You!
