Why would he need another Nav unit? He needed the GM RSE to play DVDs in front or an aftermarket unit.

THe OEM GM navigation unit I have is DVD capabile, serial ending in 66. He has the NON DVD navigation unit serial ending in 67! That is why mine would be what he wants! There are 2 different ones, if you have the dvd logo in the bottom left of the unit it is dvd capable, if you dont have the logo it wont play dvds.

Details, details. If I understand, then the 66 is the one you get when you get the RSE. So if he had yours and that "lockpick" thingy, he could see DVDs in front.

I am a bit confused with the RSE, please define.

But yes, you are correct. They have 2 navigation units, one that plays dvds for the rear dvd, and one that doesnt. The one that will play rear dvds for the rear, will play rear dvds on the screen also. Yes, you are correct the lockpick will be needed to play the dvd on the screen while the vehicle is in gear. Otherwise without the lockpick it will only play dvds while in park, again this is only on the 66 serial number dvd player.
