eBay front bumpers - good deal or junk?
The SAME DAY I decide to buy the Tahoe back from her (vs. trading in)... this happens...
6" of snow falling fast. Husband asks wife to stay home. Wife has plans.
Wife spins out before leaving the street the house is on, ends up face first in dirt/snow.
Husband not thrilled. Wife not hurt. Yelling may have occurred, but glad she's safe.
I'm having a friend see if he can buff this out, but I found some 'cheap' bumpers on eBay... are they junk or real deal for these prices?!
I mean $300 is $300, but I know the dealers are around $1400 for a front bumper remove, paint, reinstall.

thoughts?
thanks. For $300 It might give me something to do. but $1400 I'm just gonna live w/it after the buffing...

When my son did this, I bought an unpainted CAPA-certified bumper cover from Rock Auto (It was like $212 shipped), and had my local body shop paint/match it to my Burb. That was an additional $500 or so, IIRC. Mine's Ming Blue, so that's a difficult color to match.
Yours being black, I'd call it a worthwhile experiment for a relatively low cost to see if it does match.

Ohh man! that's rough. Yea black should be black across anything. I used GM black to touch up my black wrangler... black seems black... yea, that's the other route I was thinking. $500 to paint something. sheesh!

What about getting sime kind of pattern etched/scratched into the whole bumper?
That might be an idea

In my opinion, buying bumpers on eBay is a significant risk. Better go to a local shop or order those from a dealer. You never know how damaged it might be or if the seller is an accredited seller. Many frauds might even not send you anything or simply sell you something stolen. Unfortunately, there are a lot of cases, when people are getting stollen items. So, no matter how I love eBay, I will never order any vehicle parts there. I will choose epacket tracking number to track them and some local sellers.
