Eclipse vs Kenwood in Tahoe
I am putting an aftermarket Navigation/DVD player in my 2007 Tahoe. I have narrowed it down to either an Eclipse AVN 6600 or a Kenwood KNA-G510.Has anyone used either of these, or know which one is better or worse? Would appreciate any feedback to make an informed decision between the two. If you read this please reply.
Are there any specific features you would want? I have no experience with either of these, but I would bet they both are pretty close in terms of quality. Determine which features you want/need/must have and start there. Also, is there a big price difference? I went with an AVIC-D3 and am very happy about that decision. I use my iPod in the car a lot and it has by far the best iPod controls on the market.
i personally have a pioneer avic-z1 and love it. i had an eclipse 6600 but got rid of it because it did not offer text to speech which i find is extremely helpful. i dont know anything about the kenwood so i cant say anything about that one. another thing i like about the pioneer avic z1 is that there are so many things you can add like xm, sirius, bluetooth, ipod, reverse camera, etc.
I will just add that the Garmin Nuvi is inside the Kenwood and that Garmin is one tough GPS to have to compete with. It's so much nicer to look at then most any of them and in my opinion looks way nicer then the factory GPS. I'd love to hear more negatives about the Kenwood as the part I like is on the inside. That's my next purchase also. More data please... I'd love to hear from someone who put the Kenwood in, the parts they used to connect to the existing equipment such as the steering wheel controls, OnStar, etc.
