since it only happens when you move the gear shift lever, the short is likely internal to the transmission. Possibly solenoid failure, fluid in the connectors, etc.

it shift into gear but as soon as i do it blows the fuse and i just put a new transmission in it and the fluid is kinda milky so im guessing water was in the transmission could that cause a short and will changeing the fluid fix the problem?

The transmission is ruined unfortunately. Probably a bad radiator.

It could be something in your steering column too that may be shorting. Also if you pop the hood and look straight back from the vortec cover /throttle body against the fire wall there is a wire back there it's kinda hard to see and get too but it can be done kinda easy. Check and make sure it's grounded on a small bolt on the fire wall. I've read so many post of people having issues with that and it making there vehicle act kinda erratic. I will try to find a pic of that wire and bolt so you know what to look for.

Couldn't find the right video but I'm going to keep looking but look under your vehicle around the exhaust and the driveline and see if there's a group of wires that our rubbed thru. I believe you said your transmission was just replaced so I'm sure they were moving stuff to get it in and i bet a wire loom either rubbed thru or melted near your exhaust. Here is a link to give you a idea but I'm going to try to find you something better. An is there any trouble codes coming up.
