Default Electric Running Boards?

Hi, I'm new to the forum. We're looking into a purchasing a new-body-style (2007-2013) Suburban. Can anyone tell me about the running boards that fold up electronically into the truck when the doors are opened and closed? Are these found on all LTZ's or are they a separate option and what is their proper name? Thanks for all the help!

They're called Power Retractable Assist Steps, and they're a factory option on the LTZ. The RPO code is BRS, and they'll add another $1,095 to the sticker.

dmklunk: Welcome to the forum.

Also add weight and leave the sides of the truck exposed to all of the road debris thrown up by the tires. Not to mention the extra electrical gremlins waiting to rear their heads and all the mechanics exposed to salt in the wintertime.

Thanks for all the responses everyone.
Is there any way that I could search online for used Suburbans with specifically these running boards as an option? Would entering "power running boards" as a search keyword be the best option?

Thanks again!

EDIT: "Assist Steps" are listed here http://www.gmaccessorieszone.com/Che.../Suburban/2012 as a GM "dealer-installed accessory" but they look like just the mounted version of the steps (I'm looking for the power version). If the power assist steps really are a "dealer-installed accessory", any chance the dealer might install them on an older (say, 2007, '08, '09) model?

Had these on our 08 expedition, and hated them...very slow...you open the door and have to ensure they are fully down before stepping on...really bad in winters of course.
