Engine swap

I have a 02 suburban with 300k miles and want to do an engine swap. What’s the best engine I could put in it? My friend was talking about a 454 but I don’t know enough. Any recommendation?

I've never cared for the 454 Chevy motor. For its size, it has never really cut the mustard I'd go with 5.3 L, 6.0 L or 6.2 liter motors. Back in the day, I've seen the 350 V8 smoke a 454 V8. Nuff' said.

You have a sub with 300k miles on it, you want to know what's the best motor to put in it ? Put the same motor in that you have, the original went that far....
