Default Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube disconnect?

Tahoe 2003 , 5.3 liter , FLEX fuel :

I am trying to disconnect the nylon evaporative emission canister purge tube from the engine bay above the transmission bell housing.
Instructions just say " disconnect".

I can touch the joint connection , but I cannot feel any secret release tabs / mechanisms/ wings/ears.

How to disconnect?

Can you get in there and supply a pic of what you are dealing with and have you looked at you tube videos to see what you are up against?

Youtube yielded zero videos on this specific disconnect.
In theory, I would imagine a push connector together , do a finger squeeze around connector (where?) , pull apart.

In practice, my fingers have been squeezing for 20 minutes at all different clock positions and varying depths.
I cannot detect any detent tabs to push.
Sounds ridiculously easy , and yet this is not easy to do.

Videos showed many disconnects that separate with a gentle depress, and poof --it's done .
Not my experience.
Tried tp get a mirror down there to see anything . No go.
Photo reveals white tabs that look like they should push inward on larger side.
Not budge yet. PB Blaster soaking.

This is the same fitting that resides at front top part of engine - very easy access. That does not come apart either by pushing inward on large tab.

Is this due to 20 years of cooking to seize?

Partially resolved:
I practiced on the similar fitting which is easily accessible at top front engine : vapor solenoid. Same release mechanism .

The solenoid valve connection would not release until 20 minutes of PB Blaster/ Brake cleaner/ twisting / pushing down / pull up/ more PB Blaster/ more struggling--> released.

I guess that the joints are glued together and need to be heavily worked with solvents.
Feeling positive , but not expect immediate results.

If you can look/feel, you will see that on the other side of the fitting where you see the two tabs clearly in this pic, it will be a solid white connection for these two feet. You have to pry that up and the feet will retreat up into the black part of the fitting and release it. Sometimes you have to go ahead and break the feet away by prying on them. There are new clips that can be purchased. There are videos out there about these quick connect/disconnect fittings. This link may help:

Super answer !
The first yellow connector is same as my white connector.
I got its mate removed from the front part of engine only with much difficulty.
I believe that my connections are filled with cement -like goo which is refusing to let go w/o much effort / PB Blaster / elbow grease/ time.
Thank you for the info, very helpful , right on the money.
