Default Exhaust Issues

Hey all,

I have some questions concerning the exhaust on my 2003 Tahoe Z71. Right now I have the factory exhaust with a louder muffler (two cats/pipes into a y-joint then a single pipe going into a muffler with two outlets). I want to put more of a dual exhaust without headers but I don't know if it will fit. I want to remove the y-joint and put glasspacks on the individual pipes behind the cats and then run the pipes out either side as opposed to my two pipes coming out my rear passenger side like I have now. The glasspacks I want are 23" overall (the smallest Cherry Bomb makes for a 2.25" inlet) and I want two on there. I don't know if the y-joint is in front of or behind the transfer case but the exhaust place I go to said if it is behind the transfer case then I should be able to eliminate the y-joint and go with my plan. Does anyone have any input on this? Thanks.

Why doesn't the shop just look at it and tell you yea or nay?

FYI true duals aren't going to have much of an effect other than a little louder, different sound.

A good exhaust shop should be able to do it easy.

You can get the CherryBombs 12" OA length for a 2.25 pipe from Summit. I know those should work.
