Default Expected discount of 2012 LT Tahoe

Surpised i cant find more of these type of threads.. but what type of discounts have buyers been getting on new LT Tahoes (sticker in the $46-48k range)? not including rebates....only talking about dealer discount.
Experienced "first" discount on a 2012 LT 2wd to be right at $3400 off sticker. "Everyone" says just about all new cars arent marked up as much as they used to be... but is $4500 off sticker too much for a dealer to dip into their holdback. I havent asked for any invoice #'s or anything as we plan to look at it this weekend.

My 2 cents, is start at taking about 20% off sticker, that will be close to about 10k off $48k vehicle, this late in the year the dealership has made all its money off of the 2012's and want them off the lot ASAP to make room for the 2013's that everyone will pay more for since they are Brand Spanking New...

Try to deal with the internet sales folks over email on a couple of models you know are on the lot that you want... If you deal with sales people at the lot you are limited by your time there, they have all day...

I bought my 07 LT in October and got almost $10k off of a $42k vehicle all via email... you set the pace not them and don't play your hand of how badly you may want it

Go WAY LOW and let them come up...

On mine, the employee discount was 9.7% off MSRP. Then scored a $2,500 rebate.

So if you got almost 25% of a new vehicle, WOW! That's way, way below invoice. Was that Oct. 2007 after the '08s were on the lot?

I had to dig out the paper work and do the math but yep it came out to a 23% (22.94%) off sticker

But yes, it was October of 2007 and the 08's were starting to fill the lot...
I picked it up New for about $6200 below invoice... ( per the sales guys quote of "invoice")
It took several weeks of checking them all out on the lot, getting to know the vehicle and then contacting internet sales... but honestly I think it came down to getting the remaining 07's off the lot at the time...

Point is, offer about 20% off sticker for a "soon to be" last years model and be serious about buying...I already had my financing done through my Credit Union so no wheeling and dealing was needed when I went to buy and pick her up...
I spent about 10 min or less with the sales people (confirming my choice and price) and went straight to the finance folks to fill out the paper work...
