Default Extended warranty

Performed a search before posting, but couldn't find any information.

I recently purchased a 2008 Graystone/Ebony Tahoe LTZ during the GM employee pricing offer and declined the extended warranty from GM. Does anyone have any insight as to whether it's worth buying an extended warranty from GM vs. aftermarket? Which aftermarket warranties would be worth looking at? The dealer told me I could purchase the aftermarket at any time while the car is under the 3yr/36K standard warranty.

Thanks in advance,
Will

Default RE: Extended warranty

Here is Canada, the aftermarket warranty companies are a pain in the *** to deal with. Alot of time they decline repairs, or make us pull parts and send them out for repair rather than putting in new parts. GMPP covers more things and aren't sticklers when it comes down to whats wrong and whats it gonna take to fix it

I have only purchased a factory extended warrenty once, for my first new car a 1985 Fiero, cost me $800 bucks it was the GMPP, my AC went out it covered it and it would have cost me..$850 if not for the warrenty. I never needed it again and I have never purchased one since for the 3 new vehicles since then....GMPP is the best but warrenties in general factory or not are not worth it in my opinion. Almost all repairs that you need it for happen AFTER the warrenty expires...

And the GMPP price is negotiable.
