Default Friend has a 2002 Denali that is eating clutch fans...

I told him to post it here but he must have chickened out. I believe it's a 350 CU engine. He's replaced the clutch fan at 2 week intervals. Once by him 6 weeks ago. Once by a repair shop 4 weeks ago and 2 weeks ago he was told at another dealer the clutch fan is out. How he knows it's out is when he's sitting at a stop sign his air conditioner stops working.

Any tips from you experts? I'll try to get him to register here tonight after I send him a paste of this link.

Thanks...

Guvner..

One possibility is the water pump bearing going out and allowing some wobble in the shaft. This will destroy a fan clutch. Also causes the seal to leak on the W/P.

I would think a bent or out of balance fan could also cause this...
check the blades for any out of alignment
