Default Front License Plates

Went to pick up my license plates this weekend and found out you have to drill holes in the front to mount them! I guess for all those states that dont require front plates thats ok I just hate to have to drill thru the front "plastic" to mount them.

You dont have to drill holes. There are some holes there that are just filled. Just take the screw and it will go right through! At least that is what I seem to remember. Correct me if I am wrong someone.

This was the same for me...however the dealership drilled it for me and touched up a scratch I missed on the walk around...It does kinda suck if your doing it yourself though..

The other manufacturing option would be to have holes that are always there. I know it stinks to have to peirce through the plastic but I'm also glad that mine doesn't have to have the ugly holes.

My last vehicle was swapped with a dealer in New York because they couldn't find one in PA that fit the bill. It had not two, but four, poorly drilled holes under the unneeded and unrequested front plate holder. I feel your pain.

I requested no dealership stickers on the body. So they took it upon themselves to drill and put a dealership plate on the front. Thats ok...took less time to remove their tag and replace with my plate than to remove one of those awful decals.

Two-sided tape is an option. Tough to remove but leaves no holes.

phoenix- 2 Grand to drill holes!!! Holy cow, I sure hope your kidding? The dealer offered to install the plates but if anybody is going to poke holes it's gonna be me!! I am also going to put a small 1/8" spacer between the back of the plate and the front of the truck so the back of the plate does not mar up the finish. I know it will be behind the plate and no one will ever know-but I will!!

Redboat,

You dont drill holes! The holes are there, they just have a little thin plasic piece covering the top of the holes. Get your cordless drill/driver out. Put the screw to the little hole that is covered, pull the trigger and it is done. Takes about .3 seconds. You dont need a drill bit, just the screw, and screw driver.
