front rotor glowing red hot
My sub was parked for a couple weeks. I drove it a few miles (stop and go type driving) and the front drivers rotor turned red hot (significant brake smell). It did not seem to have significant pull to one side while braking. I know my pads were not worn prior.
Iwas hopingto get some addvice as to the cause before tearing into it.
First thought was brake caliper, butit did not seem to pull.

RE: front rotor glowing red hot
In my 1993 suburban we found that the clamp on the front brake hose that connects the hose to the frame had rusted between the hose and the steel clamp . The more it rusts the smaller the hose gets internally ,until the hose is restricted and no back-flow can happen. then the brakes stick. In our case to the point of hot enough to set a fire.
Replace the hoses and the problem was solved
