Gearing Suggestions??
I am currently running stock gear ratios on my 4wd 1996 Tahoe with 35" tires. I am working on new lift and running 38" tires.
Anyone have any suggestions on proper gearing to mimic stock HP and MPG?
I am really struggling with gas mileage and low end power and need to change my gears!!!
Any suggestions are welcome

wow 38's are big tires to run under stock axles( im guessing there stock 10 bolts front ifs ? )your gettin in deep now aren't ya,,,,,i would run 4:56 gears or you could go 5:13 then your starting to ask for trouble...you might get by with 4:11 and some good chip and tune her a little...what do you mostly use your rig for?

Rig is mostly used for hunting/fishing and ATV trips. Mild to medium off-road use, definitely nothing extreme. Mainly need better low end for deeper mud and steeper hills off road. On road, even with the stock gears, she pulls fine with the 35's. I have pretty much already bolted on about everything I can for performance- headers, exhaust, intake, chip, oversize TB, TB spacer.......
I was leaning towards the 4:56 - but was also considering taller- you really think I am pushing the limits with the 5:13?
Thanks for your input!
