Default GPS Navigation Upgrade

I am interested in upgrading the standard head unit in my 2013 Tahoe to a GPS Nav unit. I have narrowed it down to either one of the pioneer NEX units or a Kenwood DNX691HD. For various reasons I am leaning towards the Kenwood unit. Does anyone have any recommendations or experience with either of these units or any others?

Welcome to the forum.

Talk with Crutchfield and they might have some recommendations for you on the better of the two.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have found a unit that is a perfect form fit with very good functionality. Since I was looking for a unit that was plug and play, the Pioneer and Kenwood units did not meet my needs and they had spotty reviews. I purchased a GM 1210 unit from a Seattle based company that was especially designed to fit GM vehicles and it was not very expensive. I plan to install this weekend.

I completed my install of the head unit with no problem. Everything except the rear camera is working (no power yet). The unit is working as expected and the install took me about 3 hours due to the amount of cable to cram in the dash. One thing I don't like or can't seem to overcome is the color around the borders where the clock is. You can't adjust them and you can't see the clock. Otherwise a good unit. Once I determine how to remove the rear inside trim panel where the rear lights are, I think I can gain access to the wiring harness for the rear backup lights. That way I won't have to drill holes.
