Default Headlamp Switch Replacement

I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ and need to replace the HDLP/Dome Light/Fog Lamp Switch. I have no Dome Lamps upon entry and the push in portion of the Dome Light control is not functioning.

I purchased the replacement Switch with the intent of changing it myself but found that I can not determine how to get access to the rear of the Dash. The switch is a snap-in but you have to be able to access the rear of switch to release the Tabs.

Decided that before I break something I would seek your advice. My inclination now is to go back to the Dealer and let him do it unless I get encouraging advice from you.

I will appreciate any and all input.

I think I read somewhere that you just push it out from behind. Do a search on putting fog lights on a LS tahoe you may find out how. You have to replace the switch to put fog lights on the LS. I think that is where I read how to do it

It removes from the front. Just pull straight out and there's a couple of tabs that hold it place. That's the way mine came out.

I wouldn't necessarily pull straight out, even though it works. It's best to use a flathead and pry lightly and it'll slide out. You do not need to do go behind the dash to undo the tabs or anything, it's very easy. I swapped mine with our Denali's just to have the "DOME OFF" button instead of the symbol, plus I was bored waiting on paint to dry on my end caps.

Thks for your input, you have prevented an embarrassing return to the Dealer. HDLP Switch is replaced and Access Dome lights are working correctly.
