Default HELP 2001 Suburban 1500 Series not starting

I'm at my wits end..

I need help, this is my truck I use to respond to Search and Rescue events and I've been down a week now.

Last week I ran into the store and left my truck running. I didn't realize my gas was low and when I came out the truck was not running. I'm assuming I ran out of fuel.

So my mechanic friend came and checked it out. Said my fuel pump was not engaging. So one of the other guys on the team put a new one in tonight. The truck Still does not start and he still does not hear the pump engage.

Any suggestions on things to check?

Thank You!

Check the fuel pump relay and the wiring to the fuel pump. Look for loose connections and broken wires.

Before I install anything hard to put in, I check it first before I install it. Did your friend check the new pump?

Well.. Here is the resolution to this.

#1) We replaced the fuel pump.

#2) I replaced the fuel pump fuse

#3) I kicked myself in the *** because I took the mechanics advice for granted that it needed a fuel pump. I had not checked the fuse first and am not sure which was bad. The fuel pump or the fuse.

Now I'm having a problem with the following:
4x4 Switch does not work, Rear Wiper does not work and the Gas Gauge Shows Empty..

I'm at a loss.

sorry to say but the reason your fuse went in the first place was high resistance at the fuel pump connector in the harness at the fuel tank. They are known to melt and corrode.
