whats up everyone...new to the forum,just bought a 2002 tahoe ls.....ive trying to find a part for a couple days now with out any luck..ive been all over the net and came across this site...the part im looking for which i can not find by name anywhere...its the plastic piece located above each tail light..they have openings along them andrun vertical on each side of the tahoe..not sure of the purpose of this piece but i would like to replace them as over time have faded...ive also been trying to find the replacement bumpers on each door which have the chrome strip..cant find those either..any help is appreciated...thanks

I know what you are looking for. I don't know the name but I'll look it up. There are three options. There are aftermarket ones smoothed for painting body color (and no ventholes). You can look for salvage yard pieces or the dealer for replacement. I'll look up the smoothed ones on the web.

 

Those vent holes are for exhausting the interior air, so I don't think you want to eliminate them IMO.
