Default Help with rear view mirror

My left rear view mirror does not want to go in. I'm guessing the motor is no more good or whatever. Is there any way for me to manually put in the rear view mirror or is it fully automatic no matter what?

Welcome to the forum.

You can manually fold the mirror.

You grab it with your hands and fold it in. Or you can go to the dealership and spend approximately $650 in parts and labor to replace it.

Default piece of **** chevy mirrors

Chevy really went out of their way of these ****ty mirrors they installed on my 07 LTZ Tahoe. Same problem as you, power feature just growls, I'm sure its a stripped plastic gear. Anyone come up with a fix for this junk?

Or you can spend ~$300ish on a new set of mirrors and replace them yourself.

I just upgraded my 08 Burb to the HD towing mirrors. Only PITA is that, unlike the GMT800, you have to remove the entire interior door panel because the mirror plugs into the switch box on the arm rest.

Default folding mirrors

Yeah, spend 3 bills on more Chevy junk? Come on.
I paid $40k plus on this LTZ, with all the goodies, and the mirrors didn't last 2 yrs, and that's with hardly ever using the folding feature.
I'm wondering if anyone has figured out a way to open these up and repair the POS plastic gears? Now my drivers side has the wobbles also.
