Welcome to the Forum,

What year & model are we talking about here? There have been some guage cluster recalls recently. I have an 02 silverado, they replaced the whole cluster about 6 months ago. I had the same problem and with my speedo, tach & fuel guage.

It should be under warranty or possibly a recall, Id check with the dealer, My Tahoe as well had a guage cluster problem and they repaired it too free of charge.

Good Luck!

I would also check the female end of the cable, sometimes, depending where you live salt and dirt from the road works its way in there and will cause it to have a poor connection, just a thought for a freebie
