Higher RPM than usual

One more post.
Just went through all the service records on truck. 2 1/2 years after it was purchased, the original owner had the rear carrier bearings replaced. Is what I've described a symptom of the bearings going out? Sounds like an easy enough fix. Is it like any other bearing on the hub?.....Replace, repack, and done?
