Default Horn beeps on start?

It seems suddenly our 07 LTZ Tahoe thinks it necessary to beep the horn on a remote start (maybe also on a cold key start, don't recall). Car has Lo-jack but no alarm. This is just bizarre! it's three fast beeps (takes maybe a second). Kind of annoying... any idea what we might have done to turn this on? Is it a warning of something?

The parking lights normally flash when you remote start. Is yourLO JACKhooked into harness in a way that the horn could be sounding each of the flashes of the parking lights?

I don't know, just a thought?!?!

I think it is a good feature! Some small animals and outdoor pets get in to engine compartment in cold weather. When the car honks before starting repells the animals so they will be safe.

They'd have to be real fast critters.

Driving back from Las Vegas last year, I encountered a ground squirrel who made to the middle of the highway, did a U-turn, and made it back off the road in about 3/4 of a second. As I went by, I think I saw him hi-five his buddy. He could make it.

Unfortunately I have had the Lo-Jack installed since September and this just started happening recently. Plus the LoJack isn't connected into the car's systems at all (it's not an alarm).

Any other ideas?

My wife pointed out to me that this started when the audio installers were diagnosing some ground loop noise issues in the bluetooth module in my car. It turned out to be a bad GMX-320 Lockpick unit. So somehow the audio guys managed to enable this "feature". I'm going to get the car back to them for a look soon, but any suggestions on how the **** the accomplished this would be great.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was with this? I have an 08 that I purchased new just over a year ago. It is completely stock. The only change that has happened is the onstar subscription just ran out.

SO... Everytime I start the truck, for the last few days now, it gives a double "beep" right as the ignition turns...

Anyone?
