Default How do I install aftermarket headunit in 2004 tahoe z71

I have a 2004 chevy tahoe z71 with bose system and onstar in it. I want to only replace the factory headunit with an aftermarket one & I have the wiring harness. My question is will I be able to simply install the harness and head unit and it work with the factory amp and speakers? Or will I need to bypass the amp or get an interface for the steering wheel controls and onstar in order for it to work?
