Default How do you get to the Brake Switch?

I'm installing a remote start on a 99 Chevy Tahoe. I got the remote start all connected except 2 wires. The open hood switch and the brake switch. The hood switch will be an easy install, just need to run the wire. The brake switch, I can't see it. I can't even feel the switch. Can someone help me locate it or tell me how to get to it?

Thanks

Your looking for a white wire at the switch. Follow the pedal up to the top. The connector is attached to brake pedal arm. You can not miss it. It has 6 wires and the white is the nearest the driverseat.

How far up am I looking? It gets cramped quick up there, so I'm having a hard time finding it... oh, wait, am I looking on the firewall side or the compartment side?

Thanks, you've been a lot of help with this install E

The switch is located on the brake pedal lever inside the cab, up high right were the control rod from the brake booster comes through the firewall.
The switch is located on the driver door side of the lever.

Disconnect the wire connector then the retaining clip that holds the switch to the brake lever.

if you run your hand up the lever, the connector will actually stop your hand from going any futher. You have plenty of room to access the wire. There is no need to pull anything down.

My setup on my truck is a lot different. I can't get to the switch. I moved the wire and found where it attached to the larger harness. I tested it and the white wire was the one I've been searching for. I tapped it for the kill on the remote start.

Thanks for all the help everyone. Without you guys, I wouldn't have even known where to look.

Hardwarz.

derekraywalker Welcome to the forum, what year, make and model of vehicle are you inquiring about?
there is a pin that engages to prevent shifting if the brake is not depressed, perhaps the circuit had been damaged in your booster change out...
