Default How to fix...

So we have all seemed to experience the same problems with our Tahoes. For instance, my dash cracked, something rattles under my dash, the gas filler wont stay on unless I am out next to it and my passenger side spreakers don't work. What I am interested in reading is how everyone fixed these problems for themselves, outside of the dealer. Has anyone had any luck in fixing any of these issues?

For the cracked dash, read the lengthy thread on it.

For the gas shutoff, try a different pump or station or don't insert the nozzle all the way if they all do it.

Where is the thread on fixing the cracked dash? I have seen many about the issue but none about fixing it. I plan on using a polyurethane caulk, that way when it cures, it will still be flexible, acting like a control joint would for concrete so it hopefully won't crack anywhere else.

Also I have tried many different gas stations with the same result. I tried different angles, not inserting it in all the way, still shuts off after about 10-20 seconds. Anyone have any luck fixing this issue?

There's not thread that I'm aware of on "fixing" the cracked dash. The "cracked dash" thread deals w/ how to get GM to fix it. Some have got a free repair while others have paid $200 and up.

The thread 73shark is referring to is "Sticky: 2007 tahoe ltz dash has cracked????????" near the top of page 1. 492 posts as of now. True, it's more about getting GM to step up to the plate than anything else.

You've offered the best idea I've heard for a cosmetic repair, but my concern is that the squeaks and rattles might be the mountings breaking. I don't want my wife or daughter getting a mouthful of plastic fragments if the airbag goes off.
