Default How to properly close the hood

I read a post a while back before i got my tahoe about getting hood dents from improperly closing the hood. I would look it up in my owners manual but the dealer left it out of my tahoe and they are mailing it to me. Can someone provide me with a link to that thread or just explain to me how to properly close the hood so I dont get the dents?

Thanks in advance.

I think this is what you are referring to:

Personally I found that by closing the hood down to about 10" from closed and by using the palms of both hands, it closes relatively easily from there because you have greater leverage on the gas springs.
