Default How to Replace Rear Wiper Arm

The rear wiper on my 2007 Chevy Suburban is broken. All that remains is the plastic part that attaches the wiper to the motor arm. After removing the outside nut I thought I could just pull off the base of the old wiper from the bolt that sticks out, but it won't budge. Does anyone know the proper procedure to remove the old wiper arm and replace with the new one?

Welcome to the forum. Once the nut's off, there's nothing holding onto the wiper arm other than friction. The spindle is beveled and the teeths on it can become jammed into the matching teeths on the wiper arm over time. Try some PB Blaster (careful not to get it on the paint) and a 2- or 3-arm puller.

some light tapping with a small hammer or the end of a 3/8 ratchet to the sides might do the trick

Try using a battery terminal puller. They're smaller than your typical gear puller.

Default Got it off, thanks

Thank you for advice everyone! I was able to use the PB Blaster and then tapped it...once I did that I was able to pull it off with pliers. Now the new one is on and I'm ready for the wet season!
