Default HVAC Gremlin

Greetings,

First tech question post.....................

2001 1500 4WD Suburban with dual/automatic heat and air.

Current problem: Front fan fails to turn on intermittently. The rest of the system has power, compressor runs, rear air works etc.

History: 3 years and 50K miles ago I was jump starting the Sub and I got the cables reversed (long story, someone else's farm equipment). This apparently blew some sort of circuit breaker because at first nothing worked. Next day car jump started fine and seemed to be OK. I later discover that the front HVAC fan is not working. I diagnose and find that the "Blower Module" is fried. I replace it and all is fine.

5 months ago the same symptom recurs. I once again find that the blower module is bad, replace it and all is well once again.

Last week when we started the heat wave, the current symptom begins. So far it seems that when it is VERY hot outside, the HVAC blower will not run. Everything else has power and operates fine. Then later when it cools down, it all works fine again. This heat created failure theory is not firm yet, it really has not done it enough to be sure.

Any ideas?

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im thinking a poor intermittent connection, I'd re-seat the connections to the fan, the module and the switch...

"All things being equal, the simplest explanation tends to be the right one"

Bad connector between module and blower.

Thanks!
