Can anyone tell me the location of the fuel filter for my 2004 Chevy Surburban? I was told the drivers side (left side) of the frame behind the drivers door, but I don't see one there? Did some of them not come with filters?

I believe it's in the tank w/ the fuel pump.

 

mine has one, it is on the drivers side on the frame rail it is up past the door and is mounted alomst where the frame rail bends in.

 

Going to check for mine as well - recently shut down on freeway after 5 hrs of driving in stop and go traffic due to accidents - no warnings, all gauges good, i changed oil & filter, but oil pressure was good before and after change. trouble shooting fuel system now. will start with filter. gas gauge reads 1/2 tank. no reason to suspect pump unless they go intermittent failing at elevated temps
