Default Installing driver side recline handle in 2008 Chevy Tahoe

Good day,

I am trying to figure out how to go about install a replacement recline handle on the driver's side?

Would I need to take off the chair plastic guard?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

I replaced mine some years back and yes it's a bear to get too.
there is a small clip that has to be released and the seat rail is in the way of accessing it from under the seat from the back. You might try moving the seat all the way back and see if you have access to it, also pop out the small access panel as that may help.
If you can get a flat bladed screwdriver to the retaining clip it won't take much to open it up enough to get the handle off.
